I have a WordPress 4.8.2 instal on a subfolder located on a subdomain. After trying to change permalinks for a while I take a look to the WordPress files and I realize that there wasn’t a .htaccess.
I create one with the first piece of code on https://codex.www.ads-software.com/htaccess and give it 644 permissions. After that, I try again to change permalinks again, but I keep having errors 404. The exact message I get is 404 not found. nginx/1.10.3 (Ubuntu).

  • Check if Htaccess is created and writable. WordPress will compain if that’s not the case. Also if you installed this server yourself you should check if mod_rewrite module is active.

Htaccess is created because I did and it has 644 as permissions
How can I check and if necessary modify mod_rewrite module?

    Any idea?
