Can you confirm you are using a compatible PHP and WordPress version?

Unfortunately, we could not say for sure what might have caused the issue. However, we do know that if you are unable to access your website after updating, you may have to uninstall Yoast SEO through FTP.

After you manage to get access to your WordPress dashboard, please check first if your web host is meeting the minimum requirements of Yoast SEO. Yoast SEO requires WP version 4.8 or newer. We do not recommend nor support using outdated versions of WordPress including plugins and themes for the reasons covered in this article. Therefore, we’d recommend updating to the latest versions.

The solution doesn’t work. And with 7.2 update I have the same problem published by @sobonmartin. Returned to 7.0.3 again.

Please, any help will be welcome.

I tried updating the plugin again last week to 7.2 and once again it broke my site. Had to restore to an earlier time point in WP Engine to get it back. Can only use the 7.0.3 version. I see there is now a 7.3 version but the bug fixes don’t seem to address this issue so I’m not going to update.

Same here, still using 7.0.3 as all updates after that break my site(s).

It seems nobody at Yoast can give an answer or solution about this. Please, any help with this issue?
