• So I did the step-by-step guide and changed the URL manually back to what it is supposed to be in phpMyAdmin. Both siteurl and home are pointing to the original URL. I’m still getting the error. Did I do something wrong do I have to wait a bit?

  • Did you take any steps prior such as hard coding it into wp-config.php? Force a page refresh also may need to be done or clear browser cache…

    I did but I reversed all of the steps when I decided to just manually change the URL in the database. Do I still have to hard code it into wp-config.php for this to work?

    No. But if you used one of the other methods to force the url change, and it was still active when you modified the db, it would force it to that setting….which is why I asked…
