    Error 500 on ” /post-sitemap.xml ” . Other sitemaps are loading correctly.

When I contacted my hosting support, they said :

” I checked and it seems that the following error message is being generated in the error log:

[09-Jan-2018 11:08:15 UTC] PHP Recoverable fatal error: Object of class WP_Post could not be converted to string in /home/public_html/mydomain.com/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/sitemaps/class-sitemap-image-parser.php on line 239 ”

I think, this error is happening after the last update.(But not sure)

  • I have almost the same problem:

Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Post could not be converted to string in /home/users/mydoaminftp/mydoamin.nl/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/sitemaps/class-sitemap-image-parser.php on line 239

I get this error when opening:
    portfolio-sitemap.xml
    page-sitemap.xml

But these sitemaps works without errors:
    attachment-sitemap.xml
    portfolio_category-sitemap.xml

I don’t know if this happened after the last update.

    Please help anyone?

Do you know if this issue is already know by Yoast?

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We apologize for the trouble you are experiencing with Yoast SEO 6.1. A bug report is currently open with our development team for this issue.

If you have further information or would like to follow the progress of the report, you can do that here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/8634

In the meantime, a temporary workaround would be to edit the /wordpress-seo-premium/inc/sitemaps/class-sitemap-image-parser.php file and replace the 239 line to this return array_unique( $attachments, SORT_REGULAR );. However, we would recommend waiting for a plugin update to fix this issue. It is not recommended to modify the core plugin files, but this could be a temporary workaround.

Just for information My site had to be rolled back by my hosts, Dreamhost, as I couldnt load wordpress at all. This is what they said “It appears that there was a problem with the wordpress seo plugin that was preventing your site from loading. I needed to disable the wordpress seo plugin and the site is now able to load again” I wont upgrade until I know that everything is sorted

@rolandv1 The issue you’re referring here is different and not related to the 500 internal server error. Therefore, please open a new topic related to your issue.

I am experiencing the same issue on SEO Yoast 6.2, but we are in multisite installation. Do you know of a fix for this? I am assuming this was resolved for single WP installs…
