    Hello, I’m trying to copy my local website to an online one, but get the following message:

    The plugin encountered an error while downloading the zip file,the following error message was returned: Error Message : A valid URL was not provided.

    Is there something I’m doing wrong? Copied the zip file link?

    I hope you can help me with this!

    I tried to put the zip file in my public_html folder and the use the https://sitename/wpclone_backup_14th_Jan_2016_12-55PM_Fox_CJvKxYSkV6.zip
    as a link to restore from but then I get the error “not found”

    put it inside wp clone’s backup folder (you should see its path on the plugin’s admin page) and click ‘scan and repopulate..’ button. your file will show up in the backup list, restore from there.

    Wow worked. You saved me so much trouble.. I’m a fan of WP Clone now!!

    Thank you so much.

    sure thing ??

    did the same, it did show up in the list.. but got an error
    Warning: ZipArchive::getStatusString(): Invalid or unitialized Zip object in /home/cranni/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-clone-by-wp-academy/lib/functions.php on line 1235

    line 1235 reads
    wpa_backup_error( ‘unzip’, $z->getStatusString(), true );

    so a little unclear about what my problem is..

    check the file permissions, perhaps it’s not readable.
    if there’s nothing wrong with the permissions, try the alternate zip method.
