I see there are plenty of users with this problem, but don’t want to hijack their posts.

The error I get is: “Error Activating 2FA – The code provided does not match the expected value. Please verify that the time on your authenticator device is correct and that this server’s time is correct.”

At the moment of posting this, my LOCAL REAL time (Brussels) is 10:10 AM.

    Wordpress timezeone says:
Universal time (UTC) is 2019-08-06 08:10:48. Local time is 2019-08-06 08:10:48.

WordFence says (one minute later because I’m typing here…):
    Server Time: 2019-08-06 08:11:27 UTC (2019-08-06 08:11:27 UTC)
Browser Time: Tue, 06 Aug 2019 08:11:28 GMT (Tue Aug 06 2019 10:11:28 GMT+0200 (Central European Summer Time))
    Corrected Time (WF): 2019-08-06 07:41:56 UTC (2019-08-06 07:41:56 UTC)

Some strange things. My Computer time is 10:10 AM too, not sure why my “browser time” is different. My Phone (with the authenticator apps) is 10:10 AM too.

But what’s up with the “Corrected Time (WF)”, what kind of weird time is this?

Anyway, I just moved the site from Godaddy (where it worked) to Siteground (where it now no longer works). No idea why.

    Please help.

    Thank you!

    Hi @geert81

Can you remove the 2FA entry for your admin user and also the website entry in your authentication app and set it up again.

Please let me know how it proceeds.

Thank you. Had tried that before at the time of writing (even tried different authenticator app). Didn’t work, but now it does! Was able to activate it. Thanks!

    Hi @geert81

Glad to hear it worked this time!
