Website is a couple years old. I try not to create new pages, but I’ve recently had to. On one page there are only galleries and it works fine.

On the OTHER I’m trying to add an album I I keep getting this error:
Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$filename in /home3/dperezp1/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_gallery_display/package.module.nextgen_gallery_display.php on line 1392

The album(s) then display but I need to get rid of this error.
This is a VERY simple page – one album with a couple galleries. Exactly like most of the other pages that were created a while ago. But on any new page, if I use a gallery I get the error.

Also, some pages have a line at the top that says “Classic”. New pages I create DON’T have it. What is it, and if it’ll prevent the problem I’m having, how do I make any page I create be “Classic”?

    Hi @skyykorat,

I hope that you wouldn’t mind removing the album shortcode from the page then add it anew to see if that would solve anything. Sometimes, similar issues are reported in conjunction with using old and shortcode structures with deprecated parameters.

As for the pages that have the “Classic” top line, it may be a theme’s custom feature so I would try to temporarily activate Twenty Seventeen theme to see if that headline will still show up.

    Hope this helps,
    Mihai

Got nearly the same error for my gallery:

“Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$galdesc in /mnt/web106/b2/96/5920896/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_gallery_display/package.module.nextgen_gallery_display.php on line 1392”

I already tried it with different Themes but still the problem is there ??

I’d be happy to remove the album shortcode and such if you can tell me how and what you want me to do. Is the shortcode the html that looks like:

    [ngg src=”albums” ids=”41″ display=”basic_compact_album” gallery_display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_basic_thumbnails”]

I verified that the album I want is indeed ID 41…

As far as using a different theme – unless there’s some way to switch ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT possibly messing anything up, no. I only have this problem on new pages (at least up ’til now), and the existing pages, albums and galleries have to stay up and running.

    ————-
Just to see what would happen I created a new page “Test”. Created two albums “A” and “B”. A is empty, B has a gallery called “testgallery” that has a couple images in it. They’re ALL VERY basic, simple, nothing odd or interesting. Used the normal NextGen gallery visual thing to add the galleries.

As usual, they both show up, but the same error as in the original post. I’ve opened the code in an editor, but line 1392 isn’t anywhere that tells me anything. Then again, this is NOT my expertise so I’m not sure I’d recognize if it was something obvious.

    Hi @skyykorat

    Let’s try the following:
    – Create a full website backup (we always recommend that before troubleshooting).
    – Update your Next Gallery Plugin (and if it’s possible, update any remaining plugin).
    – Please make sure your environment fulfills our minimum requirements https://www.imagely.com/docs/nextgen-gallery/

Please, let us know how it goes.
If the problem persists you might need to check for conflicts, I know it’s sometimes difficult, but it’s part of the regular troubleshooting.

Sadly, I was hoping not, but from past experience I pretty much figured we’d end up here.

Unfortunately, when I created the site, I used Imagely’s NextGen Pro, and they want additional money to update their plugin, which since the existing pages, albums and galleries work, I was hoping to avoid. Especially as it appears I’m not the only user getting this error and I suspect mos1986 isn’t using the same theme I am.

Since it’s already broken, I may as well waste some time attempting to find out where the error in the Imagely plugin software is and see if I can do anything. Worst case I”ll have to pay them more money.

    Hi @skyykorat

Apologies, but our last answer was pretty adequated and part of our troubleshooting protocol.

The main difference between our Pro and Free plugin are additional displays and features, but indeed there is no extra code to make it work differently. Our free plugin works as the core of our pro plugin.

Haven’t said that, we’d encourage you to test everything so we can narrow down the cause of the problem.

You can also enable the “WordPress debug mode” that might provide more insights.

    Please, keep us posted.
