  • Similar problem – I have used Rename Wp Logon many times and never had this issue.
No idea what else is in there as I can’t get in – I CAN login, but “You must log in to access the admin area.” stops me doing anything!

    Steve

and in the multi site manager it says both that there are NO PLUGINS and that a plugin needs updating.
And I can’t access the site from there either!

I am also having similar problem on both my publish site and non published site which is just the default wordpress template with nothing on it. cant get to login page just get error message ‘You must log in to access the admin area’

I had exactly the same issue when using Chrome. Logging in with an incognito window didn’t work either.

When I tried logging in using a Mozilla browser, and it worked. So I was able to access the dashboard and disable the rename-wp-login plug-in.

This may be related to the cookies (not sure which one). So you can try from another browser or another computer. Good luck!
