• Something happens with my WordPress installation. After I upgrade to 4.1, every time I enter the Permalink Setting section, there are two error messages:

Warning: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.ads-software.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to www.ads-software.com. Please contact your server administrator.) in /path-to-wp/wp-includes/update.php on line 295

I don’t really understand what happens. The site is still working correctly, and it seems there is no obvious problem. However, the errors keep appear until now, and only on Permalink Setting section.

  • Have you tried re-installing the update? You can go to your updates screen (under Dashboard menu item) and re-install. I’d try that first.

I have tried to reinstall, but the problem still persist. I have tried to isolate the problem by using several installations of wordpress, and the problem seems exist only at WordPress installations installed in sub-folders of website root.

    Any thought?

Yes, I am having this issue. Morgana, did you running ssl on this site?

No, I don’t use SSL. The problem still appears in WP 4.2.
