After updating to Yoast 9.2 and later to 9.2.1 the text mode is blank. When I switch with the mouse across the yoast section it disappears. I use Php 7.2 and WPML.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The same here… there is a conflict between Yoast 9.2.x and WPML plugin, which crash some editable area in backend.
You should revert from 9.2 to 9.1 at least until Yoast or WPML fix this issue.

Just got the same problem as I was working on my client’s website. how do you revert back to an older version?

i had an older version on backup (9.0.3), unfortunately i cannot resume 9.1 version.

Have the same problem with the premium version (and WPML). The 9.1 already made problems with the automatic creation of redirects. For example he forwarded /en/ to /en/cart/. With the 9.2 the Yoast section is no longer available, the TAB remains empty. Even the 9.2.1 didn’t change anything.
If I deactivate WPML, the section is ok again.

Same problems. I use WPML as well.

    1. The Yoast post meta widget disappears when the mouse cursor is focussed on it,
    2. The Text/HTML side of the TinyMCE editor is not visible, and
    3. WPML permalinks act up every time Yoast updates. I suspect Yoast disrupts the permalink structure on Yoast update. I use a separate WPML compatible plugin to remove the ‘category’ slug.

Hoped Yoast 9.2.1 would fix the problems in 9.2.0 but they still exist.

I’ve reinstalled 9.1 in all sites I manage.

You can use WP Rollback to easily revert to an older plugin version.

I also use WPML and I had the same problem with the 9.2.1 version.
I followed @leehodson ‘s advice and installed the WP Rollback plugin and restored 9.1 version.
Now it seems that everything works good.

This has been fixed in WPML’s latest development update. You can refer to this GitHub issue for more information — https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/11646#issuecomment-440657327

Once there is an update for the WPML plugin, this should be resolved accordingly.

Thanks for all your feedback. Wanted to follow @leehodson ‘s advice, unfortunately I got the message, that this plugin is not tested with my WP version.
@mikes41720 I need the text mode urgently, so I guess I have to reinstall a backup.

But after backup I just tried WP Rollback and it worked. Thanks @leehodson this helps me a lot.

The WPML developers have been informed about this and are currently working on releasing a fix. Their beta version has been tested to be working already so the official version should be released soon. You can view the report here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/11646#issuecomment-440657327

The workaround for the meantime is either to switch to the Gutenberg editor OR to downgrade the plugin to an older version (9.1) which you can download here: https://we.tl/t-zVztzlfHTP.
