I exported a site that had the Google site Kit plugin installed, using Duplicator PRO.

Unfortunately I didn’t reset the plugin before exporting the site.

After importing the site to a new domain I get this error message when I try to reconfigure the settings:

Error: Bad Request invalid parameter: 'site_id'

When I go back to the source site it has disconnected as well, and cannot reconfigure either.

How can I reset the settings completely and reinstall Site Kit?

I have tried to disable and remove the plugin and deleting the plugin folder via FTP, but it is still disconnected when reinstalling the plugin again.

How can I reconfigure the settings for the two sites?

Thanks for reaching out?@mrdolittle. If you’ve already tried the “Redo plugin setup” button, with the same occurring, please perform a plugin reset and share whether you’re then able to proceed with setup?(Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit).

Note that by resetting, you will need to connect all previously connected modules once more.

What I suspect happened in your case, rather than being a plugin related change, was something at Google service, web host or network level impacted your site credentials when communicating with the Site Kit service. By resetting you’ll reset those credentials.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. We also have a guide on the plugin website in relation to this error which contains more details of this.
