Google says you don’t ??

Please double-check in the Google Developer Console, under your project’s API’s & Auth menu -> API’s submenu -> Google Apps Apis -> Gmail API, that this is enabled, and not disabled. If it is disabled, there will be a big blue button that says Enable API.
