Error: Category is not valid. (107)

    I am trying to relist an item. It listed OK before, but now I’m getting

    Error: Category is not valid. (107).

    I’m setting the category in the normal way from the Edit Product screen in the eBay Categories and Item specifics field popup. The category is:

    Clothing, Shoes & Accessories ? Women’s Handbags & Bags ? Handbags & Purses

    The only explanation I can figure, is that eBay changed this category recently and wplab doesn’t know about it yet. Could this be?

    As a workaround I’m going to try to upload to a different category and then go to eBay online and correct the category there.

    I am happy to assist you with this.

    Have you tried refreshing your account details and then selecting the eBay category again? Please visit eBay > Settings > Accounts > Click “refresh details” in WP-Lister. This will refresh eBay settings, categories, etc with WP-Lister. Then try selecting the category again and verify/publish. It is possible the categories you are trying to select are no longer available on eBay, but that will be determined once you refresh your account details (if after refreshing you find the category no longer shows, that tells you eBay removed that category). If that doesn’t help try a different category. If it works, then you know that category is no longer available on eBay and you could ask eBay about the category in question, especially if you can select the category on eBay but not through WP-Lister. WP-Lister uses eBay’s API and this wouldn’t be the first time eBay’s API complained about something that works completely fine directly on eBay.

    Also, if you modify the category directly on eBay, then the next time you revise the listing with WP-Lister, you will see the same error again because WP-Lister will try to use the category (that is invalid) set in WP-Lister.

    Problem solved. The eBay category was changed. “Refresh Details” did the trick.
