There is an error submitting the form. Written, check your form. The form has required fields with a condition. Under certain conditions, these required fields are hidden. But the form is not submitted until you fill them out, even when these required fields are hidden. Why is that?

    Hello @d7fox7vr

I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

This might be some “logic conflict” in form configuration or a bug (that we’re not aware of yet) or e.g. some validation conflict caused by the theme or other plugin. I’m afraid, though, that without testing the form itself it’s difficult to say anything more.

It would be best if we could actually test the form in question. Forminator provides an option to export the form so would you please export the one that’s affected and share it with us here?

We’d then test it and hopefully that would help diagnose and solve the issue.

    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hi @d7fox7vr

    Thanks for response!

When you export the form you got a code that you can copy so please simply copy it and paste in your response here but make sure to highlight it (here, in post editor) and mark as “CODE”.

That should suffice and I should be able to import the form to my test site for further testing ??

    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hello there @d7fox7vr

Our developers were able to narrow this down and a fix is already included in the upcoming v.1.11.

Meanwhile, you could use the following file as a MU-plugin:

    Hello there @wpmudev-support6

Tell me when will the update 1.11 come out?
Not very convenient to have a MU plugin.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello @wpmudev-support2 .

@wpmudev-support6 ??You said that the error will be fixed in version 1.11.
    Already released in Version 1.12.1.1.
Error not fixed. Tell me why? This is a significant mistake!

    Hello @d7fox7vr

I trust you are doing well!

I apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused. The fix didn’t pass all testing by our QA team so it was not released in this version. We are doing our best to provide a bug-free plugin.

We really appreciate your patience here!

    Kind regards,
    Nastia

Tell me when the release is planned without error? How do I know about this? In general, this issue will be resolved?

    (@wpmudev-support8)

    Hello @d7fox7vr

I’m sorry but I don’t have an ETA. Unfortunately, as my colleague mentioned earlier, the fix didn’t pass QA tests – the fix itself seems to be working fine but to be included in a release it also has to play well with all other parts of the plugin, including other fixes that are going to be included, all the changes/improvements made to the plugin and all the new features added.

At the moment, it’s planned to be in 1.13 which is expected to be released by the end of the month or at the beginning of May but again – that’s a “plan” for now. We’ll know finally only after the release comes out.

I understand your frustration with this and I’m deeply sorry for all the trouble it has caused to you but while we are trying to fix all the issues as fast as possible, cases happen sometimes when it all takes a bit longer than expected.

I just don’t have an ultimate ETA at the moment but I can tell for sure that it will be fixed.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Hello @wpmudev-support8
I added the MU plugin as you suggested to me. Now I have some forms come with empty fields! A person fills in the fields, but they are not in the letter! I’ve enabled {all_non_empty_fields} in the settings.
    Is there any solution?

Plugin Support Williams – WPMU DEV Support

    (@wpmudev-support8)

    Hello @d7fox7vr

I apologize for the delayed response!

I’ve tested the form that you sent to my colleague some time ago, with the MU plugin active. There do seem to be some “empty” fields sent but in my tests they were actually only the “section” fields (which, indeed, were invisible so shouldn’t be included) but I couldn’t make other type of empty fields to be sent in notification.

That is, unless I missed something filling-in the form or the form has changed since then.

However, this mu plugin is only meant to help with successfully submitting a form with nested “required” fields and it’s a workaround rather than ultimate solution so there might still be other issues related to it. If it needs further tweaking I’d need to talk to our developers again but I would have to replicate the issue to be able to show it to them.

If you could then please either guide me how to fill the form step by step to get exact the same kind of notification as yo’re getting (and if the form has changed – share current one), that would help a lot.

    Kind regards,
    Adam
