Error code: ERR_ABORTED

  • I needed to edit my theme so went to Appearance >widgets

    This webpage is not available

    The webpage at https://www.xxxx.com/wp-admin/widgets.php might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

    Error code: ERR_ABORTED

    I ftp’d in and wp-admin/widgets.php is there. I’m om the iPad but will check tomorrow from my Windows laptop. I’m just curious what the error means

  • Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the root wp-config.php & .htaccess files and the the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    I wrote a long post but deleted it. I decided to check from this iPhone. The widgets link comes up fine though appears different. So this is happening on iPad only so far. I’ll be at my laptop in three hours.

    I’ll post after I try it in Windows.

    Page comes up fine on Win laptop. So either it was an odd glitch or an iPad problem. Neither makes sense.
