Error connecting Site Kit – invalid ‘client_id’ or ‘client_secret’

    I have installed Site Kit and get this error:
    Error connecting Site Kit
    Unknown Error (code: invalid ‘client_id’ or ‘client_secret’)

    Data error in Search Console
    invalid ‘client_id’ or ‘client_secret’

    I tried re-installing site kit, as well as uninstalling another Google Analytics plugin. However, I still get the error message.

    Google Analytics and Search Console were both running on the site successfully before.

    What can I do next?

    Hi @nmottet,

    Thanks for reaching out, and sorry to hear you’ve been running into errors. While we have information on this error added to the plugin website, it sounds like the re-do plugin set up option didn’t allow you to complete set up. Have you tried resetting the plugin before setting up once more (Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit)? This may allow you to proceed, as it resets all previous site records, with the issue you’re possibly facing being invalid records.

    Note that once you reset, you will need to connect any previously connected modules. You can choose the same Google Analytics property you referenced above if you wish.

    Let me know how you get on after attempting a reset.

    Fixed! Resetting from the tools page worked.
