    It looks like the latest Site Kit update broke the loading of the stats. Site Kit is saying can not connect;

    Error connecting Site Kit

Looks like your site is not allowed access to Google account data and can’t display stats in the dashboard.

    Redo the set up

and get this error on the google page https://sitekit.withgoogle.com/v2/site-management/setup/..

    bad request

    page invalid parameter: ‘site_id’

Thanks for reaching out @rsioncke. As the “Redo plugin setup” button doesn’t allow you to proceed, please perform a plugin reset and share whether you’re then able to proceed with setup?(Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit).

Note that by resetting, you will need to connect all previously connected modules once more.

What I suspect happened was that something broke your connection to the plugin, as you’ve indicated, and when attempting to connect once more some of your old, maybe not longer valid credentials are used. A plugin reset should address this.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. We also have a guide on the plugin website in relation to this error which contains more details of this.

    Hello There

I am in this same exact case but when i click on the “redo the set up” , they drive me on a page saying “Error: Bad Request invalid parameter: ‘site_id’ “

And when i try to delete the plug in and install it again, i have the exact same message mentioning that this is a problem of connection..

Sorry to hear that @claudiadigital. Did you perform the same steps as suggested in this support topic, to resite Site Kit (Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit)? If not, please go ahead and do so. After this, I expect you will be able to complete Site Kit set up. If not, please open an individual support topic we can communicate with you from there.

    it s all good

    ?? thank you

This keeps happening on all my sites that have Site Kit installed – “Error connecting Site Kit” on the dashboard and “invalid parameter: ‘site_id'” when I click on “Redo the plugin setup”.

Resetting the plugin helps but only for a little while – then I have to do it again. And again.

Why? Is there a more permanent solution?

    Plugin Support James Osborne

    (@jamesosborne)

@peedikuubik Thanks for the input. Certainly this shouldn’t be happening frequently. We are aware of situations whereby this may occur, situations not necessarily caused by users environment and more related to spikes in traffic to the Site Kit service. We made some changes to reduce the likelihood of this happened. Based on this I suspect that in your case there may be something related to your hosting platform which is invalidating your site credentials. If you’d like to open an individual support topic we can communicate with you from there on this. Please include your Site Health information after sharing. Thank you!

Thanks. This cleared my problem, as I was thinking some big problem has happened to my website

Glad to hear it @ganeshjyo1, great that you managed to troubleshoot any problems with your site.

@jamesosborne I have the same problem as @peedikuubik

Had to start over and reinstall the plugin to get it working, but after a few days the problem comes back. It is losing the connection to Analytics.

This issue is not resolved. I manage over 100 wordpress sites, and suddenly today I’m having this same error on all of them that I am performing maintenance on. Reinstalling and resetting on 100+ sites is time consuming. Is anyone trying to find the source of the issue?

@flourishdesignstudio I reset the settings and deleted the plugin. After that I installed version 1.133.0 and everything started working fine. There was a bugfix in that version for this issue. Hope it will help for you as well.

@flourishdesignstudio Sorry to hear that. As you are managaing a large number of sites, you may also be impacted by the limit of active site connections. This is an OAuth limitation, the authentication service used by Site Kit. The limit is set to 100. As users should not become disconnected on all sites even if this limit is reached, feel free to open an individual support topic and we can investigate this further, while communicating from there.

Thanks for the input also @almerika. Disconnecting your Google account from Site Kit and connecting once more is one solution for this error, or alternatively you can reset Site Kit as you did.
