error connecting to database self hosting

  • I have gone over my wp-config file countless times (database name, password, localhost, username are all correct). I can’t seem to connect to the database i set up on phpmysql on hostmonster. I have a feeling I’m looking in the wrong place at this point. Any suggestions?

  • Check the details with your hosts. wp-config.php is the only file in which these are entered.

    thanks for your reply. I was able to use it and build it with my own customized theme locally (wamp and phpmyadmin). Just not connecting at all in hostmonster. I’m wondering if I uploaded my database incorrectly. I have been in touch with hostmonster. They said they updated the password on my wp-config file…but still not working.
