First, make sure your server is not blocking or filtering out the cookies.

Also try adding below line to your wp-config.php before /* That’s all, stop editing!…*/

define(‘COOKIE_DOMAIN’, $_SERVER[‘HTTP_HOST’] );

/* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

I tried this without any change at all.

Yes they are, this is mind baffling

I went though all of it and no change at all.

Ok I feel stupid now but it is working…I had a suspicion because the browsers cookies were enabled and i could not see any…so I did some further research and discovered that at some point all browsers are no longer accepting cookies from insecure sites and only accept cookies from https sites. So I converted my intranet site to do ssl and it started working.
