I am testing on default WordPress installation and cannot replicate this issue. So there must be some other factor involved, like the theme or another plugin. Or it might be something happening on the server. In any case, the best way to find out what is happening is to do some troubleshooting. I would be glad to provide a guide if it will be useful for you.

All plugins are turned off/deleted and 2020 theme loaded
Also looking in Google’s API for their console message
I will be happy to follow your guidelines //THANKS

Sure, here is a guide to troubleshoot WordPress. Another thing you can try is restoring all plugin settings back to defaults, then try the reCaptcha again.

    Thank you
We found a similar problem replicated with the USP Google reCAPTCHA here
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/wp-plugin-usp-google-recaptcha-missing-input-response/

Their API suggests the problem is in 1 of 3:
    * g-recaptcha-response POST parameter when the user submits the form
    * grecaptcha.getResponse(opt_widget_id) after the user completes the reCAPTCHA
    * callback function if data-callback is specified

When I get more time, I will look into the plugin code as the problem started after the last update of the plugin. Thanks again!

Okay @bibliata that sounds like a plan. Let me know what you find, and/or if I can provide any infos about the plugin.
