ERROR: Could not generate a WordPress export file.

    I have this plugin installed on a few sites. It has worked great for a very long time, all of a sudden in the last few days every single site has given this error:
    WARNING: strpos(): Offset not contained in string [02-Feb-2014 23:00:42]
    ERROR: Could not generate a WordPress export file.

    Any idea on how to fix? I have deactivated all the other plugins and the error still occurs.

  • In the beta it is fixed. I will relese it asap.

    Beginning 1/31/14 and since, backup logs on my site have the same warning and error message. However, after the error it seems that the backup does execute a successful export to XML and generate the export file. (See log section below.) Is this the case and the export is the proper backup without error?

    The beta is released at 3.1.2

    Still seeing this issue on one site running 3.1.2; please let me know what material I can provide to help solve this problem.

    You can test the Version from https://github.com/inpsyde/backwpup in this the xml Export is completely rewritten.

    3.1.3 beta 1 seems to be working, thanks! I’ll install it on my other sites and report back if I see any issues.

    Im still getting this, can i confirm that it still is getting backed up even though we get this error?
    I also get this confirmation after i get the error

    I’m getting this error on multiple sites as well.

    I just downloaded and installed 3.1.3b5 to solve this issue and the beta fixed it for me. Thanks!

    I am getting this error too – Daniel, can you verify that release version 3.1.2 is doing the backup correctly even with this error message? It seems to be.
