A friend of mine report the same issue days ago.

I checked his server and found the server is using different CPanel version.

I’m going to manually discover the installation parameters and send them to you in this post.

Thanks for using the Plugin and for submitting a question. This helps me maintain the Plugin!

    Sorry about that.

Hello AHMeD. I had the same problem as Mr. Sagigreen above did. I received the same message. What should I do to fix the problem? Doc Garrett P.S. I reviewed the writeups regarding your AWStats, it appears to be a fine product, and I have a preference to use it in lieu of other options, if possible. Thanks.

As I said in my previous comment above. I need to figure out the installation parameters for your CPanel version.

I’m planning to check this by tomorrow.

I will try to get it quickly.

I will send you another message then.

Thanks for your words about the product.

    I appreciate that!

thanks for the replies, i will say that it uses the same directory location as of the other files that have been managed to be created so i dont beleive it is a permisison issue.

    thanks

Same for me! Is there a solution already?

    Dear AHMeD,
I know your awstats from my cPanel. It’s fantastic. What I did on my WP domain ad47usa1.com with URL https://www.ad47usa1.com I created a link to My cPanel– ti ask me for my password, I input manually and works fantastic. But when I try to install the plugin I do have the same problem — unable to configure backfile:

“?Unable to create config file backup. Config file directory is not writable: /home/ad47usa/tmp/awstats” It’s not possible to write, because is lock out SSL cPanel etc. I will ask my server’s people to see what they will tell me. I like your plagin. I’m not sure if I will be able to install it. Thank you very much if you have time to give me any idea. Thanks, Alan.
