Hi Sandy, that error can be caused by a number of things. An incorrect url is one of them, but yours looks okay.

Please try deleting Jetpack specifically from the Plugins section of your blog’s Dashboard: https://jetpack.com/support/reconnecting-reinstalling-jetpack/#reinstalling-jetpack

This will clear out Jetpack’s settings, and it should work properly after a reinstall. Let us know if you need more help!

    Hi Supernovia,
    Thank you for your reply.
I did delete from Plugins section. Didn’t work. So then deleted via the server. Still couldn’t connect. Then several hours later was able to connect to Jetpack account.

It took some time, but now shows up in my WordPress dashboard, however, I am not able to initialize auto updates for the plugins. Says “Autoupdates are not available for Paradise Theatre. Any autoupdates are explicitly disabled by a site administrator.” There is only one user, site administrator, and that is me.
    ??

One more thought. This site is on GoDaddy. I have a few others on GoDaddy and am not able to initialize auto updates on any of them.

There are a few cases in which you won’t be able to auto-update plugins via Jetpack:

    1. If the site is under a version control system.

    2. If the DISALLOW_FILE_MODS constant is set to true.

    3. If the AUTOMATIC_UPDATER_DISABLED constant is set to true.

    4. If you’re using a plugin that specifically disables auto-updates.

If you’re on a managed host, which is one of GoDaddy’s offerings, it’s always possible that one of these 4 is set. I recommend checking with their support just to be sure.

Overall though, at least according to tests from our end, Jetpack is working properly on your site now.

Thank you James. Pretty sure GoDaddy is the ‘problem’. Makes it tedious when there are plugin updates. Thank goodness I only have 5 sites there. The good thing is I can at least update them from my WordPress dashboard rather than logging in.
