• The last time I updated WordPress on www.gettingaffairsinorder.com there was a glitch. The site went down. Someone at Godaddy then uploaded WordPress manually and it’s working except when you click on “Updates.” I get the error>

Warning: Unterminated comment starting line 405 in /home/content/g/e/t/gettingaffairs/html/wp-admin/update-core.php on line 405

Fatal error: fatal flex scanner internal error–end of buffer missed in /home/content/g/e/t/gettingaffairs/html/wp-admin/update-core.php on line 405

Was it possible some files were not uploaded and if so what do I need to do to make it work right again. I’m worried about the next update.

    I think so, yes.

Try downloading WordPress again, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.

Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

    Once that’s, done visit /wp-admin/upgrade.php

This will both replace all core files with fresh copies and update you to 4.4.1.
