    database seems to be disconnected?

    Any idea what happened and how to troubleshoot?

    Installed repair code and got this:

    wp_users: Table ‘184114_jandkspetdepot.wp_users’ doesn’t exist
    wp_usermeta: Table ‘184114_jandkspetdepot.wp_usermeta’ doesn’t exist
    wp_posts: Table ‘184114_jandkspetdepot.wp_posts’ doesn’t exist
    wp_comments: Table ‘184114_jandkspetdepot.wp_comments’ doesn’t exist
    wp_links: Table ‘184114_jandkspetdepot.wp_links’ doesn’t exist
    wp_options: Table ‘184114_jandkspetdepot.wp_options’ doesn’t exist
    wp_postmeta: Table ‘184114_jandkspetdepot.wp_postmeta’ doesn’t exist
    wp_terms: Table ‘184114_jandkspetdepot.wp_terms’ doesn’t exist
    wp_term_taxonomy: Table ‘184114_jandkspetdepot.wp_term_taxonomy’ doesn’t exist

  • Looks like something wiped your database tables out. Do you have a recent database backup?

    No, this is a client’s site. Will need to go into the host server and check database.
    I’ve never seen this happen before.

    Tried to do a repair within MYSQL admin, but same errors.
    What can I do at this point to restore the database?

    Without a database backup, there’s very little you can do. Try asking the hosts if they have a backup.

    Can any portion of the old DB be used, or is the site virtually wiped completely clean and the site needs to be created from scratch (or the original work files)?

    This is one scary aspect of using WordPress!

    The site’s content needs to be created from scratch.

    The hosting company (web.com) was able to restore the database, and the site is now functioning again.
