Error establishing a database connection – Yahoo

    hello everyone,

    I got the domain name from yahoo small business India and created my site using site solution(yahoo tool). But now i’ve decided to install wordpress. As mentioned in the installation document i have created database and user with all privileges. Then i edited wp-config.php and uploaded files to root directory. And now when i try to run install page i get “Error establishing a database connection. “

    Am really not sure why this is coming. All the parameters in wp-config.php are correct and i have repeated the entire process for more than 3 times without any success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • With Yahoo your database server (DB_HOST) will be mysql.

    Yahoo is a bit confusing with their Database Administrator stuff so review these Yahoo Installation Notes before proceeding.

    This question is for MichaelH:

    Would upgrading to the new version of WordPress 2.5 cause issues with yahoo? If so, should I create a new DB for 2.5?

    I upgraded my installation to 2.5 with the wordpress automatic upgrade plugin. I don’t know if this might cause an issue. I don’t think it would, but I’m curious.
