Error establishing a database connection

    hi guys ive been having a nightmare 4 days which saw my last host close my site down and see me search for new host whilst migration, my broadband went down for 42 hours then came back up my site was ready but all 5 years of links to posts where broken thankfully they all got sorted but now about 20mins ago i got ‘Error establishing a database connection’ i dont know why and wondering hats went wrong and how do i get around it.

    im not pc savvy so last time i tried nearly wiped the site completely!

    so any help will be greatful

  • It looks like you have a hosting issue. Try contacting your hosts about it.

    yeah i contacted them there paying the old pass the buck game. yeah its not letting me log in , ill email them again, funny enough the site is still working fine on IE but firefox, chrome are both ‘Error establishing a database connection’

    Was the site working fine an hour ago?

    yes 25 mins agoit was fine no problems all day, until i went to save a post in draft it changed

    now getting same message on IE

    Then it’s definitely a server issue. Either their database server is down or something has corrupted your wp-config.php file:-(

    ive sent them another message but the message has now change to-

    “Internal Server Error

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    Oh – that sounds like your new hosts are having real problems. ??

    yep! haha well its tucows who own them

    Rename your .htaccess file and again made a blank .htaccess file and advice that problem is solved or not…

    Hey thepeoplesmovies, what plug-ins dis you have installed on your WP Blog when this happened? Do you still have the same Plug-Ins? I’m trying to get to the bottom of this?
