    Hi,

I’m migrating wordpress from my localhost to Dreamhost. I’ve just uploaded mysql database to Dreamhost and have ammended my wp-config.php file to include the name of the database, username, password and hostname. However, I keep getting an error saying:

‘This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at mysql.hollychallenger.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?’

I have checked multiple times that the information I’m entering into wp-config is correct.

I’d be really grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

    Thanks,

    Holly

Try checking your database details with Dreamhost support.

than you, i’ve resolved this now. realised that i was still trying to connect to my localhost/wordpress rather than my siturl/admin – if that makes sense.

    cheers,
