Error establishing a database connection on Total Choice Hosting

  • I’m having problems connecting to the db. I’ve followed the instructions and even the ones listed on the TCH website, but to no avail. Any one else having problems with this? I’ve just downloaded 2.0.1 and is my first installation. PHP is version 4.4.1 and MySQL 4.0.25-standard.

  • I’m also on TCH, and seem to have “lost” my website after some MySQL error messages. I was previously running 2.0.1 fine on it, but when I moved my WP files to my main directory, that’s when the MySQL problems started. I checked the login and password info, and nothing’s changed. Sorry I don’t have a fix to offer – just someone else that’s having TCH database problems.

    Thanks for the confirmation. I have posted the issue in the forums and will hopefully get a response soon for this. I also checked the server status and it claims that everything is running, but still no connection to the db.

    OMG! I am an idiot. I found out that I was replacing the wrong text in the define() sections. Doh! I was replacing the all caps stuff instead. Ha! Okay, all is a-okay.
