• Ok, I’m trying to setup my blog on my site, but I get the error “Error establishing a database connection”. I’ve done some searching and I read one post where someone said you can’t use the new MySQL or something.

I don’t really understand what all this stuff means, I don’t even know what version of MySQL I’m using, I can’t figure it out.

If anyone can give me some advice, I’d be really happy. ??
    Cheers.

  • Some information that may get you started on the whole database thing:
First you need to make sure there is a database for wordpress.
Some hosts set up a default database when the account is created, in that case you should check with their documentation/support to find out how to get the info you need before moving on to the next step, which is to set up wp-config.php.

    Thanks for the help.

I’ve setup a MySQL database in my hosting control panel. I’m 99% sure I’ve entered all the correct details into my wp-config file. I’ve also uploaded it. ??
