Error Establishing DB Connection from my FB ads.

    Hope someone can help with this…

    I keep getting the following error message whenever I preview the URL on my website that is linked to my FB ads.

    Has anyone ever seen an error message like this before?
    Does anyone know how to fix this?

    The website appears to load just fine on the front end when viewed on different browsers and devices. The only time I see ever this error message is when using the ‘PREVIEW URL’ link that can be found in FB ads manager, which leads me to think there could possibly be a bug in this plugin.

    I have had a support ticket open with my hosting provider for almost 6 weeks now and nobody can pin down what the root cause or fix for this is.

    I have since setup cloudlfare, configured the WP heartbeat plugin and redirected WP-login in the hope that these would stop me maxing out my server resources limit through FB ad URL web traffic.

    As my hosting provider explained there appears to be this “burst of connections” which is using up all resources on my hosting plan and thus throwing out the error message!

    The only solution my host can offer is to upgrade to a managed VPS which is going to cost me a lot of money, so before upgrading I just wanted to reach out to see if there was a developer/plugin fix to stop or block these spike requests to MySQL DB whenever people click on my FB ads?

    Sorry for the trouble this is causing you.

    Please share a full screenshot of the Preview button causing this error and the steps to attempt replicating it.

    It will be great if you could share your current System Status Report. You can get it by navigating to the WooCommerce / Status section of your site. Once there, click on the Get system report button and then copy it by clicking on the Copy for support button. Then paste it here in a comment.

    The weirdest thing about this is that the error message does not occur every time. Sometimes the URL loads just fine while other times I see it, especially after emptying my google chrome browser cache.

    Unfortunately for security reasons I can not give you admin access to my FB ads manager to try and replicate the issue your side. I do have a recorded video walkthrough showing how this error loads, which I recently shared with my hosts. If you want to see this, please provide me an email address so I can share a link to that video with you via drop box.

    Hi @ryankanwal – I’ve taken a look and can honestly say that I’ve never seen a max_user_connections error that did not lead directly back to a server issue.

    I see you mentioned you spoke with your host about this. What did they have to say?
