error … event-functions.php on line 248

  • Greetings. We are seeing the following error:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare event_scripts() (previously declared in /home/rdseattle/public_html/wp-content/plugins/rsvpmaker/rsvpmaker-plugabble.php:1625) in /home/rdseattle/public_html/wp-content/themes/event/inc/settings/event-functions.php on line 248

    Is there something we can fix, or a a setting to adjust to eliminate the error?

    WordPress 4.7.2 installed fresh in February 2017

    This is a case of your theme and my plugin using a too-generic function name. I will put out a new release shortly with a different function name, prefixed as rsvpmaker_event_scripts or something to that effect. I may be able to do that later today. If you want an immediate fix, I’m afraid you will need to either deactivate rsvpmaker or change your theme.

    Great – thanks David for the quick reply (and solution!). I don’t know what theme the designer is using … I left them with a fresh WP install. If I can find out I’ll let you know.

    I’ll look for your update and manually try to replace the files so the designer does not lose any other work.

    Installing version 4.6.1 should fix this issue.
