    Dear Mike,

We were informed by Mollie that a subscription has been suspended because they could not charge the donor. I checked the plugin and there is no record that there is any kind of transaction with that ID either cancelled or expired. I also checked in our Mollie dashboard and there is no record of that transaction. Nobody has also informed us that they attempted to make a donation.

However when I checked the log I found this error for a transaction with this ID:

Mollie webhook exception: [2024-10-10T02:06:01+0000] Error executing API call (404: Not Found): Payment tr_EE2sgwDxt6 exists, but the wrong mode is used. Try switching live / test API keys.. Documentation: https://docs.mollie.com/overview/handling-errors.

I just saw that you released the new 4.0.0 version. I haven’t yet installed the new beta release so I don’t think this could be the cause for this error.

I tried testing the plugin and it works okay so I am at a loss at what could be the issue.

Grateful if you can advise what you think might be an issue.

    Suzana

    Hi Suzana,

If Mollie was unable to charge the donor then this is most likely an issue between Mollie and the donor. Kudos Donations only sets up the subscription, but Mollie then handles the subsequent payments. If the donor’s payment details have changed it could cause this to happen.

However, the log indicates that the original payment was made in a different mode than what Mollie is now configured for. For example: if you put Mollie in “test” mode and created a new donation, then changed Mollie to “live” mode then subsequently tried to refund the donation (via Mollie’s dashboard) you would get this error.

The reason I suspect you don’t see the payment in your Mollie dashboard is because it does not show test mode payments until you toggle the “Test mode” option under “More” in your Mollie dashboard. Have a look there and see if you can find more details about the transaction.

    Kind regards,
    Mike

Thanks Mike for your prompt response. Indeed, this was a test transaction done back in January this year. I realized that the error in the log has been appearing every 9th of the month, probably because it was when we were testing the recurring donations. But it is the first time Mollie has sent us this kind of notification, even though we have not requested a refund, I wasn’t even aware about this.

Anyway, I’ll check with Mollie to see how to remove this test transaction.

On a different note, we have SEPA direct debit enabled in Mollie but it doesn’t show up in the payment methods when we select recurring donations. Can you advise what may be the issue?

    Thanks

    Hi Suzana,

I am not sure why SEPA is not appearing. Are you referring to the screen you see after submitting the Kudos Donations form? It could be that you are making a test mode payment and that it does not support SEPA when in test mode, however that is only speculation as I have not yet tested SEPA on my own account.

Feel free to send me screenshots or more information to my email just in case I misunderstand [email protected]

    Kind regards,
    Mike
