I’m getting the following error posted at top of the malware scanner screen, and disabling the auto scanner didn’t resolve it.

    2024-01-26 16:49:41: Scheduled: scanner__launch: WRONG_SITE_RESPONSE ACTION: scanner__controller RESPONSE: “<!doctype html><html lang=”en-US” class=”no-js”><head><meta charset=”UTF-8″><meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=1, user-scalable=0″ /><meta name=’robots’ content=’index, follow, max-image-preview:large, max-snippet:-1, max-video-preview:-1′ /> <script data-no-defer=”1″ data-ezscrex=”false” data-cfasync=”false” data-pagespeed-no-defer data-cookieconsent”

    Hello @simeoncn,

Please deactivate the plugin with the “Complete deactivation” option enabled and then activate it again.

    1. Enter the Security by Cleantalk plugin settings. (WordPress Dashboard -> Settings -> Security by Cleantalk -> General settings tab)
    2. Check the last settings “Complete deactivation” and save changes.
    3. Deactivate the plugin on the “Plugins” page in WordPress Dashboard.
    4. Then activate it.
    5. Proceed to the plugin’s settings. (See item 1.)

    Did it help?

No unfortunately it didn’t help. In fact, using the ‘Complete deactivation’ setting doesn’t even clear the settings, I still have them and my key when I reactivate it.

    Hello.

Could you please perform again the same actions? Please clear all website cache after you change the plugin settings and activate the Complete deactivation option, and then right after the deactivation.

If the error still shown in the Security plugin settings please create a ticket here: https://cleantalk.org/my/support/open

It has now resolved… I had already cleared the cache several times originally, but it seems there was a delay in the settings/key being eliminated. When I went into the backend this morning for other purposes I got another message stating the key for this plugin was invalid. I added the key back and then I also saw the settings were all reset back to defaults as well, so I set all those up again and the error message I reported is also now gone. TY for the support.
