• Most of my plugins are getting updated but 1 or 2 are a version behind while two others are not getting updated at all. I’m getting the following error message multiple times although no plugin name is listed: Error: [fs_unavailable] Could not access filesystem. I assume the error is related to the 2 that are not getting updated.

Any idea what could be causing this? As far as I know, all file and directory permissions are correct. I’ve tried another update plugin and it had the same problems.

If more plugins had this issue it seems like something in the WordPress core, but that doesn’t mean I can’t look for a fix. Please give me some time to see what I can do.

Can Companion Auto Update update premium plugins in addtition to free plugins?

Here’s what one premium plugin developer’s support had to say about there plugin: The autoupdating in our plugin is done using Easy Digital Downloads. There are a bunch of other premium plugins that use this same updating, so I would expect the dev to be familiar with it.

My conclusion is that premium plugins (the ones that are causing the error) don’t reside in the www.ads-software.com repository, thus don’t update the same way. Therefore, tools like Companion Auto Update that probably use the function wp_update_plugins via WP-CLI most likely will not be able to update premium plugins.

Have to say I’ve never had this issue before myself, but maybe the view premium plugins I use are updated in a way that does work. I’ll see if there is a way to update all premium plugins.

Okay, the 3 premium plugins that Companion Auto Update has not been able to update for me are:

Screenshot of logs. These plugins have either failed auto updating or seems that Companion Auto Update has to have never attempted to update them. Either way, I have to update them manually or they never do get updated. This is true for all sites that I have build on several different hosting companies’ servers/hosting plans.
