Apologies for the inconvenience caused to you. Kindly allow us some time, we will soon release a stable version of it.

Let me get back to you once this issue has been resolved.

One of my sites was affected too.

When I tried updating this plugin, my site crashed and I had to go into the FTP access and deactivate this plugin. Once back in the WordPress dashboard I decided to try deleting and reinstalling the plugin and got the following prompt:

Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in [root-domain]/wp-content/plugins/email-subscribers/classes/es-register.php on line 1241

Your fix will be greatly appreciated. I LOVE this plugin!

    @trible

Sincere apologies for this trouble. We are working on releasing the stable version. Kindly allow us some time.

I will notify you once this issue has been resolved.

i had the same issue – and my host told me to change the php version to 5.5 it worked! previously i had version 5.3
    he send me this link:
    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17139264/cant-use-function-return-value-in-write-context

    Same problem here.

Our WordPress site only gives me an option for 5.4 and 5.6, and if I go to upgrade to 5.6 I get dire warnings…

“Upgrading to PHP 5.6 might cause compatibility issues with code on your site.
Installed applications might not run under this new version. If you are using a custom php.ini file, the file will need to be named php56.ini for your changes to take effect.”

I’d really hate to start chasing my tail with code changes…

Anyone know what I’m really in for if I go from 5.4 to 5.6??

    I’m on GoDaddy…

My website is returning the same error. How long do you think this will take to fix? And even with an updated plugin, how can I install it? Every webpage is returning this error, on the front end and the back end of the site.

My website is returning the same error. How long do you think this will take to fix? i can’t deal with this. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE FIXXXXXX IT. People want to read my blog and they can’t. I’m losing viewers.

@bberson Anyone know what I’m really in for if I go from 5.4 to 5.6??

    I’m on 5.6. Website down.

@wendihihihi, Thanks for letting me know!

Unless Icegram is able to provide an easy edit for this one PHP file, y’all are probably gonna have to get your web site working to get the revised code on-line when they announce it.

Best to follow that link I posted to get your sites back up ‘n running without this plugin for now.

FYI, I tried to be fancy and disable just the one plugin using the described method for editing active_plugins in the options table, but for whatever reason WP didn’t like what I did and disabled all the plugins anyway. I don’t care. Got me running easily enough, and the contents of that field was saved to a notepad before the changes, so it served as a handy reference for the plugins that were activated.

Thanks @bberson. I just went with an ftp client to the plugin dir and put another s behind the plugin dir’s name. Website is went back online. I think that’s the easiest way to disable a plugin.

But I am worried about those people who see their website offline and don’t know that this plugin updated today.

On behalf of Icegram, I want to extend my sincerest apologies for the negative experience that you had with our recent plugin upgrade.
At Icegram, we pride ourselves on giving our 100% every day to ensure that our customers’ needs are being met. I know that we have let you down, and for that, we are very sorry.

We are in the process to release an official update for the plugin. Kindly allow us some more time.

Till then if okay with the version upgrade of PHP can go forward and just upgrade the PHP version and your website would be back to normal & those who would choose to wait for the official release can wait for the official release to roll out.

I know this issue has caused trouble to many as many websites went down in a fraction of seconds. From the whole team I again extend my sincere apologies to everyone.

We have released a fixed version 3.4.1 which will fix the issue that you are facing.

Kindly update plugin to version 3.4.1 (if you have downgraded to lower plugin version) or download a latest version from www.ads-software.com, install & activate on your site.

If your website is down, to get it up and running, log in via ftp, delete email-subscribers folder from wp-content/plugins/ and then install a new version (3.4.1) manually.

Let us know your views on the same.
