Recently updated to WordPress 4.7.3 and am now getting this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ in /home/newspi7/public_html/special/installer.php on line 264

Everything worked fine before, but now I can’t even get my older backups to work.

  • It may be possible that the installer just got corrupted at build time. You might try and create a package again and see if that works. If the problem persists feel free to create a help ticket and I can have a closer inspection at your package files.

    Thanks

I have tried both rerunning the package build and checking previous packages. All now have the same error.

I’m wondering if the problem might be because of some recent updates – Duplicator 1.1.26 to 1.1.34, Wordfence 6.2.9 to 6.3.4 and WordPress to 4.7.3.

If that’s not the problem, can you tell me where to send the package files for you to check?

    Thanks!

Still having trouble. Tried the older version (1.1.24). No luck. Tried submitting a ticket and got a 403 error. Help!

It does look like something may be setup incorrect in your environment. It may also be that when you download the installer from on your server its corrupting the file. A few things you can try:

    1. Inside the archive.zip file is an exact copy of the installer.php file called installer-backup.php, You might try that file and see if it works.
    2. You can also FTP to the wp-snapshots folder in the root of your WP site and also grab a copy of the installer via FTP.

If the above options don’t work then try the ticket request again, I just created one without an issue and there are a few in the backlog from other users in backlog as well within the last few days, we haven’t had any reports through our contact form that ticket system is causing any issues from other users…

    Thanks~
