error in setting up twitter

    I created all relevant keys on twitter for an app called SocEngine, but when I try to validate it I get this error:

    Error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’, expecting variable (T_VARIABLE)

    what should have been wrong? From the text, I think it’s something in the configuration of my WordPress site. (I installed the plugin automatically, by the way)

    The issue seems to exist because you are using an outdated version of PHP. Please update to a supported version of PHP, at least a version superior to PHP 8. Thank you! ??

    thank you for your answer! I am indeed still using PHP 7.4 because of other issues with my blog (probably I should first upgrade the theme… It’s not easy to have 20+ years of material!)
