    Hi.
    I’d like to change an error that appears using SPANISH version of the plugin.

    Page description appears:
    SITE NAME
    en el SITE NAME

    “en el” it’s incorrect.
    Where can I change this text? I’ve tried to edit PO files, but no results.

  • You’re right. Someone translated the definite article “the” as “el” which is a masculine noun. Spanish language has masculine and feminine nouns. That’s is: “el” (masculine) or “la” (feminine). The correct translation should be “en” which can be translated as “in” or “on”.

    Hi guys,

    I’ve had this report earlier, and I suggested the change.

    We don’t have editors for the Spanish language, and I got someone in mind. If you’d also like to be an editor, feel free to let me know on Slack. Keep in mind that I ultimately don’t have the power to make someone an editor, this is in the hands of the Polyglots team.

    I’ve translated POT file, and I’ve uploaded thes files:

    – AUTODESCRIPTION-ES_ES.PO
    – AUTODESCRIPTION-ES_ES.MO
    – ES_ES.PO
    – ES_ES.MO

    Error is still displaying.

    Hi @danicasati

    You should upload the autodescription-es_ES.po and autodescription-es_ES.mo files to:

    ../wp-content/languages/plugins/
    

    It should then be used, given it’s not overwritten by WordPress in an update.

    I’m still looking for a translation editor for Spanish, and I’ll ask for a moderator to approve the suggestion.

    My apologies for the inconvenience, it’s unfortunately out of my hands. Nevertheless, I’ll keep following up until it’s resolved.

    Facebook snippet caching
    Regarding Facebook, they cache every single webpage it encounters for quite a long time.
    Here you can ask Facebook to fetch the latest version of your page, simply via hitting “Fetch new scrape information” after entering the URL:
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/
    If you have the updated translations ready, the new snippet information should appear.
