Error in unzipping the download of 2.7 to updgrade

  • This is the error I get everytime I try to unzip the file I downloaded so that I can upgrade to 2.7

  • Did you try downloading another copy of WordPress? Maybe your original is corrupted.

    Sounds like a corrupt file. Try again downloading tar.gz file.

    Use win-scp just search google for it. It’s an ftp program that is free that easily lets you untar (unzip) files on your server. It’s a great ftp client. It’s under custom commands.

    I redownloaded it few differenct times yesterday and deleted it between each download and tried two different programs to unzip. If it is corrupt, I guess its the original download file that is corrupt. I will try the tar.gz file and win-scp.

    If using Vista, right click on the zip file, click on Properties, at the bottom right of the box, click on the Unblock button, then OK, then do the unzip again.

    I’m not using Vista, I have xp professional. I have try the tar.gz file and get the same error. I delete all the files before trying to redownload and keep getting the same error. Any more suggestions?

    Download 7-zip and try using that to unzip the file.
