• Resolved A Z

    (@ahmedzeidan)

After updating to the latest version, the input box disappeared and the CC icons are all huge. disabled caching to test but that was not the solution. Reverted back to 5.2.0 which was stable and works well.

Please test the new update… Not sure if I am the only one. This error shows on 2 websites.

  • This is about 5.2.2 release still the same issue here. All the icons are huge, the input box for credit card is gone too:

Not sure it is related, we have Stripe 3D secure enabled, we have 3+ users who were in the midst of ordering when I updated from 5.2.0 to 5.2.2, from Woocommerce we received 3 orders all failed in Woocommere Stripe payment.

And I didn’t discover this as there are no JS errors in our unit testing. Lost 3 sales and drove away customers due to this.

Revert back to 5.2.1 no good, have to revert back to 5.2.0

    Also more context:
    – Woocommerce 5.4.1 + Stripe 5.2.2 no good
    – Woocommerce 5.4.1 + Stripe 5.2.1 no ggood
    – Woocommerce 5.3 + Stripe 5.2.1 no good
    – Woocommerce 5.3 + Stripe 5.2.0 OK

I applied the below CSS to fix the credit card huge logos:

    img.stripe-icon {max-width: 40px!important;}

However, the input box was not working even with 5.2.2

V 5.2.0 works well for me temporarily until the authors fix the issue.

Thanks @pjlam for confirming the issue.

Thanks, @ahmedzeidan – V 5.2.0 works with Woo 5.4.1 will wait until the input box re-appear again.

We also had to roll back to 5.2.0 because the latest changes to class-wc-gateway-stripe.php related to the tweak for JavaScript configurations has messed up the checkout with missing scripts for js and css.

    Same here!

Input boxes for the credit card field can’t be used, as just now a big grey box which can’t be clicked into

The only thing I don’t have enabled is the inline credit card option. So just roll backed 5.2.0 as at least that works!

me too, back to 5.2.0. thanks for the info on what version works.

    Same problem,

    No input fields,

    Woocommerce 5.4.1, stripe 5.2.2

    going back to 5.2.0

    Same problem.

No problems with renewals, however I had a customer contact me asking where to enter the credit card information and when I went to look (in a private browser window), the textboxes were gone. I reverted the plugin to the previous version and it started to work again. I’m running the latest version of everything other than this plugin.

    Same here…

Rolling back to v5.20 fixed things in my particular case.

However, I had to have surgery under a general anaesthetic three hours ago. Dealing with the stress that the botched plugin release caused was neither welcomed nor desired.

Suggest you fix whatever the bug is ASAP.

Hi @ahmedzeidan and other affected users,

I tested on my site with WooCommerce 5.4.1 and Stripe 5.2.2, however, I’m not able to replicate the issue. Here’s a screenshot of my testing: https://d.pr/i/8EPFHf

Could you try switching theme to Storefront to see if that resolves the issue?

Let us know how it goes!

Multiple users using multiple Themes and *all* with the same issue?

This would appear to be a serious bug with the extension’s code, and therefore, should be investigated by the authors as a matter of urgency, wouldn’t you think?

Whatever was changed in 5.2.1+ is the issue and asking multiple uses to change to “storefront” theme when these are live sites taking transactions – isn’t really the answer!

Trying a different Stripe plugin which has more features that seems to work with higher rated reviews, looks like it might be time to jump plugins as bugs, issues and old problems not being fixed

In all fairness, the Storefront theme is the default and one that all developers should code around as a testing platform, however, I agree asking people to switch their site to storefront is an ask that should have been prefaced with “If you have a development environment or testing environment, please try switching THAT environment to the Storefront theme and see if the issue still exists”.

That being said, the fact that all of us are experiencing this issue with this update, should provoke the developers of the plugin to take a second look. Yes, it COULD be that our themes or other plugins are conflicting and having an issue, but the question of WHY with this last update, they’ve started to conflict?

I’m sharing my WooCommerce System Status in hopes that they come up with a solution.

5.2.0 works, 5.2.1 does not, 5.2.2 does not either (just checked).

However the fact we are all using different themes means there must be something from 5.2.0 to these latest releases which has changed as my theme hasn’t updated and never had this issue before.

So maybe to do with the block update they listed in the change log that’s the problem. However using a different Stripe plugin the form fields appeared, so something with the latest update has changed but changed for the worse. Which if you weren’t aware would be loss of business and loss of sales. Especially if you just updated thinking everything was fine

We had the same problem, and had to rollback to 5.2.0

We use cartflows too, I don’t know if that was the issue

    wp-rollback is a life saver
