"ERROR | INI directive 'safe_mode' is deprecated from PHP 5.3"

    I performed a PHP 7 compatibility scan of my site with WPEngine’s PHP Compatibility checker and it returned this error for /wp-content/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/ewww-image-optimizer.php line 598:

    ERROR | INI directive 'safe_mode' is deprecated from PHP 5.3 and forbidden from PHP 5.4.

    Is this on the roadmap to be fixed? Thanks!
