Error installing plugins

  • Hello all,

    For some reason, I’m getting this error when trying to automatically install any plugins:

    Fatal error: Class ‘WP_Filesystem_direct’ not found in /home/content/50/6978650/html/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 793

    I built the site using the current version of WordPress 3.0.4. and never changed it to any other version. Plus I’ve successfully installed the following plugins with no problem:

    Contact Form 7
    Flexi Quote Rotator
    Improved Include Page
    ShadowboxJS
    WP-Cufón

    I’m not sure why I’m suddenly getting this error. Does anyone know how to fix this problem so I can install plugins automatically rather than manually through FTP?
