• The RSVP system is working FANTASTIC, minus on minor glitch. We are using it on our intranet for employees to RSVP for company events, and a few people have been getting the message ‘Error: Invalid Input.’ They are only required to put their first and last name, but certain names seem to not work. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why most names work but others do not. However, we definitely need to work out the bug.

    Any suggestions??

There is some code in there that’s designed to minimize problems with spam bots, which tend to use randomized input like xYZabcL as a first or last name. If the people experiencing the problem have a mixed case name like McNamara, the spam filter could be firing inappropriately. Let me know if that fits the pattern you’re seeing. It may be that I need to adjust or remove that code.

Bump. I’m trying to use this plugin for my wedding and when it’s not throwing “500 internal server” errors now my guests with completely normal names are getting this error “Invalid input.” I’m afraid I’ll have to switch plugins if I don’t get this sorted ASAP. Any info would be nice.

I’ve found that if attendees put their name in all lowercase letters, it works with error. However, I’d really like to not have to tell registrants to input their names without capital letters. Any way to get past this?

Any update on this? I did a tester name: EJ McLee. I tried EJ Mclee, Ej Mclee, EJ McLee, and just about every combination that I could think of. Every single time I have an ‘invalid’ message.

Then, when I did all lowercase (ej mclee), it worked without error. I love so much about this plug in, but I know if we will have to do something else if this cannot be resolved.

I sincerely appreciate all of your help!

Finding the same thing. If registrants use all lower case letters, it works.

Any way for us mortals to remove this ‘randomized input’ code? The features of RSVPMaker are otherwise amazing. Thank you for your work!

I got rid of this spam check in the latest release. Sorry I couldn’t get to it sooner.
