Error: Invalid MO format

    Hello,

    I am trying to edit the frontend language of the theme Compass.
    They provide 3 files in de languages-folder, default.po/.mo/.pot
    I can’t open the .mo file because i get this error, Error: Invalid MO format
    When i open the .pot file in Loco i can edit, save and sync with no problems but the translations do not show on my website.

    I hope i provided enough information.

    This theme won’t work with Loco Translate without a few changes to those three files.

    1. Delete default.mo and default.po.
    I don’t know why these files are supplied, they’re totally redundant.

    2. Rename default.pot to compass.pot

    You should now be able to able to add a new language and sync the strings with compass.pot. If you’re not the theme author then there’s no need to edit the POT.

    Note that if the theme is updated your changes will probably be overwritten.
