Hi @segkof,
So we can determine more on this, please share the following and we can advise further:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
- Do you see any warnings or errors when checking your Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references.
- When attempting AdSense connection from a Chrome browser incognito window do you see any browser console errors on the same screen where this notice appears? If so please share any such errors.
Once we have the above we can advise on this further. Some troubleshooting steps we may suggest may be checking for plugin or hosting related conflicts. The above check from a Chrome browser incognito window may also allow you to proceed in the event of a browser related block.
I have filled out the form on Site Health Information. The answer to question 2 I believe has been answered in my response to Site Health Information.
Please find below the link that shows the response to question 3

Many thanks for the updates @segkof
We didn’t receive the form at this time. Was it submitted after you filled in the details? If it’s not too much trouble you may wish to submit once more.
Before submitting your Site Health information, you may wish to perform the checks below, which can be useful to determine a possible third party plugin conflict.
- Login to your site from a Chrome browser incognito window
- Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
- Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
- From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
- Attempt to connect the AdSense module once more
I’ll keep an eye out for your Site Health information if the above check results in the same error.
I have resubmitted the form. I have installed the Health Check & Troubleshooting Plugin and used as described. I got the same error message after following the above instruction and exactly as advised.
Many thanks for sharing, and for performing a check with the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. As nothing obvious stands out from reviewing your details, please share the following:
- Do you see any warnings or errors when checking your Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references. This isn’t part of a users Site Health information, to respond to your comments above.
- At what stage does this error occur during the AdSense set up process? (ie. After clicking on continue when selecting your Google account, or directly after clicking on “Complete set up for AdSense” from the Site Kit settings page
Once we have the above I can check this with the team or provide some troubleshooting suggestions. This may include temporary changing your PHP version, with 8.1.10 only having Beta support for this version at present.
I didn’t notice any error when checking the Site Health Status and I have uploaded below the screenshot of the Status of the Site Health Result.
https://blog.segkof.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Blog-SEGKOF.pngIn specific response to the 2nd question I get the error message after clicking on “Complete set up for AdSense” from the Site Kit. I have uploaded a video of the error message below.
https://youtu.be/mz4KbnxyYuEAlso when I started getting the error message I went into my CPanel to update my PHP version to see if
the issue would be resolved but the update didn’t solve the problem.Thank you
Many thanks for sharing these additional insights @segkof. The video is extremely useful to see at what stage exactly the error occurs. As you’ve referenced I also don’t see anything from your Site Health status that would be resulting in this error.
Before I discuss this with the team further, can you downgrade to the latest version of PHP 7.4 from your hosting control panel? After doing so please attempt AdSense connection once more.
I have downgraded my PHP version and I have attempted to reconnect the Adsense severally since the downgrade, but the result is still the same.
Thank you.
Thanks for the update @segkof. I’ve created a GitHub issue for this from which I’ll dicuss your case with the team. I suspect the issue may be that you need to approve your parent domain first, and not the subdomain. I need to confirm this with a check on my side, but please do inform me whether you have your parent domain (segkof.com) added and approved from the AdSense platform.
Hi @segkof,
Just to let you know that parent domains do need to be approved before your subdomain site can be added to your AdSense account.
I’ve also tested for the same experience as yourself, with the “Error: Invalid site state null” message. In my case I didn’t encounter the same error, however, set up does not complete without the top level domain being already approved.
Can you share a screenshot of your site status from the AdSense platform, using this link to share privately if preferred, or let me know whether you already have the top level domain added to your AdSense account? I suspect you don’t, as when I visit your top level domain site I’m redirected.
As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
Hi @segkof,
In case you’re still encountering the same error within the Site Kit dashboards we have been performing some tests on this. While we’ve been unable to encounter this same error so far, we do have a possible workaround on this. On the site where you’re encountering this error can you visit your subdomain site from the AdSense platform? After doing so, please remove this site. Once this is complete, disconnect the AdSense module within Site Kit and connect once more.
The above is only applicable if you’ve already added your parent domain and it’s approved for ads. Let me know how you get on with his, or ask if you have any questions.`
