    Hello,

While there is alot of content on this matter, I did go through a few but couldn’t get the query resolved so posting here . I just came to know about Site Kit from Google Ads notification bell icon.

I am running a blog on subdomain which has been showing ads but it would be better to have Site Kit with in WP rather then opening Google Ads, no my root domain is added in Ads > Site, although I can’t see my subdomain in the list, when I try to add my subdomain there it says “It looks like you’ve already added this site?” but on Site Kit I am having the error “Error:Invalid site state null”

Let me know how to go about it

    Thanks

Thanks for reaching out @dr-hack, and it does make sense to use Site Kit to place ad code on your site as opposed to manually. Note also this what you are referring to Google AdSense, which is where users place ads on your site. Google Ads is where users advertise by placing their own ads.

Assuming this is AdSense related, we did have users encounter this error previously, however, this was before AdSense remove the option to ad subdomains to users sites. This is why you don’t see subdomains listed within AdSense. The workaround of deleting a subdomain site from AdSense therefore won’t apply in this case. So we can determine more on this please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.??
    2. A screen recording of your experience. You can use a service such as Loom or RecordIt to share a screen recording, while using the same form above to share this privately if preferred.?

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Once we have this information we can advise on this further or check with the team.

    Hello,

I wanted to say Google Adsense, my bad. Have submitted Site info and loom recorded session, on the form given above.

    Thanks

Many thanks for the update @dr-hack. May I ask do you have the parent domain for this site approved for ads, with an approval status of “ready” when visiting adsense.google.com (and clicking on the “sites” tab)? I ask as if it’s not ready you can try deleting this site from here, before then using Site Kit to add the site once more.

I’ll also test out the same on my side today to dig deeper on this.

Hello, yes the parent domain says “Ready” and has been used for showing ads for over a decade now on the parent domain and on the subdomain which i shared in the loom vid, shared the image below.

    Thanks for fast response.

    regards

Thanks for your patience on this. We’ve been performing some testing on this and in our case we were no able to reproduce the same. I’ve therefore reopened a related GitHub issue from where the team can investigate this further.

While I will keep you updated on this, note that I’ve checked your site and the AdSense code has been placed. I can also see ads appearing. The only thing that’s not working as expected is the Site Kit AdSense dashboard, as you’re unable to complete this final set up step within the plugin.

Let me know if you have any further questions on the above. As mentioned I’ll keep you updated on this as we find out more.

Just to keep you updated on this we’ve determined the cause and we’ll have a fix in place soon. You’ll find more details on the below GitHub issue:
    https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/5852

Thanks for reporting this. We’ll let you know once the fix is out.

@dr-hack Just to confirm that this has now been fixed in Site Kit 1.103.0. Please update to the latest version if you haven’t already and let us know if you face any further issues.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
