    Hi Tobias.
Not sure if this is a tablepress issue or theme..
Error log shows many of these errors. Have removed private info but error issue is repeated.
using Bulletproof security which controls .htaccess

[crit] [client 122.] (13)Permission denied: /home/dair/public_html/wp-content/plugins/tablepress-responsive-tables/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable, referer: https://dry.info/
    etc etc referer: https://day.info/?ptype=post_listing

If I need to alter the access could you please advise which htaccess file that would be..

    Hi,

    thanks for your post.

I’m a little bit confused here. Neither TablePress nor the Responsive Tables Extension use or come with an .htaccess file. So, I have no idea where this comes from here.
I recommend to simply delete that file from the server, via FTP (after checking what the contents are).

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Yes me too.
I originally went looking for the file and could not find it.
ie responsive folder does not have .htaccess file.
Errors logged everytime someone is on the site.
Will remove/delete the Resp plugin and install again unless you think differently or it leaves something behind maybe..

Thanks so much for your time again.

    Hi,

you can probably not see that file because it is a hidden file, and most FTP programs don’t show these by default.
So, yes, removing the “tablepress-responsive-tables” folder and re-installing it from a fresh download are a good idea to get rid of the file.

    Tobias

    Most perplexing..
    Removed table – No errors
Fresh responsive download – reinstall – same error..
removed Bulletproof in case this was an issue but same error.
Deactivated all plugins one by one.. same error as long as responsive is active..
Basically Responsive with no other plugins still get that error.

    plugins/tablepress-responsive-tables/.htaccess pcfg_openfile:
Cannot find that file anywhere in cpanel..

    Hi,

weird. I have no idea what’s happening there then. The server seems to be looking for that file for some reason, but seems to give that error as the file doesn’t exist.
Unfortunately, I have no idea on what to try here next, so that you might want to ask your webhost company, as this seems to be a problem that is related to the server configuration.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Oh boy. Much to and fro and testing..

it was PERMISSION on the responsive folder — for reasons unknown they were not 755
Changed to 755 errors no more..
Simple when you see it…. took ages..
