• hi,

I just created a subdomain in the cPanel and installed WP via Softaculous, got confirmation email and everything. Anyways when I try to login I get “incorrect username or password” error. I checked it several times and they are both correct. Is this a bug on my hosting provider end or is it softaculous? please help me out here

    thank you in advance

    Aldin

What is the URL of the site with the problem?

Have you checked out the Create a Network documentation for sub-domains and the Softaculous section?

the reason I want to install a subdomain is to install the main-wp plugin there and then monitor/backup/update all my other sites and client sites from there. but maybe there is a better option?

That should work. Have you solved the login problem?

they managed to log in and told me I was using the username wrong!?!? I don’t know what that means but anyway afterwards I was able to log in. I installed the MainWP plugin and played around a little and left it to finish the setup later. but today I can’t open the subdomain (neither the login page nor the frontend interface). I get “this page is not available”

I opened another ticket with the support, let’s see if they can fix it

Yeah, what username you use shouldn’t have anything to do with whether or not a subdomain exists.

Hopefully they can figure this out for you.
