    Hi

I am receiving an error message as follows on several buttons incl the YouTube button, horizontal rule button and shortcodes button

    403: Forbidden

This error message is generated when the web server is trying to access a file that does not exist or has been configured incorrectly

do you know how to fix it?

    Hi,

What version of WP are you currently using?
What version of the plugin do you have installed?

    Thank you.

    Okay..

My first idea was maybe WP changed something in their silent update… but everything still works exactly as expected on my test sites (just confirmed).

So, we’ll have to try basic troubleshooting methods first.
    1. Temporarily deactivate ALL other plugins. Now, go back and see if the button loads properly.
    2. If that doesn’t work… then it might be your theme. Temporarily switch to the default TwentyFourteen theme and then see if the buttons load properly.

If still nothing… then we are going to need to take a look at your browser console to see what error we are getting (don’t worry, I’ll help).

So… try those two steps first.. and we can move forward from there.

Okay, what browser are you using?

We are going to need to inspect the browser console; and see if we find any errors or notices.

I have attempted to replicate this issue across multiple browsers and server installations. I am completely at a loss.

Are you familiar at all with browser debugging tools?
